Two bugs need correcting, both of which arise when you enlarge the image to work on it:
1.) the top row and rightmost column of the image disappear and you can't edit them
2.) the program tends to think you're selecting the image pixel immediately to the right
of the one you are trying to select.
It could use a palette to hold the colors you;re using, with a way to take a color you're using and modify it to make a new color whick can go in another slot on the palette. (For if, say, you have a shade of green, and want to lighten it, and then keep both shades handy as you twiddle pixels.)
It could also use a way to erase pixels back to transparent.
